Birthday Card for My Daughter-in-law

This 6 X 6 card was made using a sketch from Peachy Keen Stamps for a challenge. The card must contain a metallic element, circle and ribbon. I used metallic paper as the shadow for the sentiment. The Birthday Girl sentiment and the scalloped rings are from the Cricut Storybook cartridge. The card is embossed using the Cuttlebug Oriental Weave embossing folder on the front and using the Cuttlebug embossing folder Created For You With Love on the back.

The outside corners of the front and back of the card were rounded.

DCWV Latte Metallic paper was used for the shadowing of the letters. The sentiment is attached to the card with pop ups to give a 3D effect.

The scalloped rings are partially glued down enabling the ribbon to be weaved through the rings.

Close up of the bow and button with thread, as well as some of the embossing.

Inside view of the card showing how a slit was put into the fold of the card to accommodate the ribbon.

Card and view of the envelope made using the Martha Stewart Scoreboard.

Spring Blooms

I made this layout to participate in Throwback Thursday on Emma's blog  My Creative Time. Spring is my favorite season, so I decided to make a layout using pictures of some of my daffodils, as well as Camellia and Rhododendron I saw a couple of years ago on a trip back from Virginia. As part of the challenge we were asked to use one of the Cricut Lite cartridges. I used the Lovely Floral Lite Cartridge for the title and the pink flower.

The photo mats, title and flower were cut using the Gypsy and Cricut expression. The photos were distressed and the photos, mats and title shadow were inked.

The flower petals were Stickled.

The font used for the title didn't have a shadow, so I glued it to a mat and roughly cut a shadow. To make the title stand out more I outlined all the letters with a green pen.

The ribbon on the layout is held in place with cute floral brads.
